Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

HI!

I have a Lifeview 98 which I use in Argentina (Pal-Nc) with XP and I cant run any time shifting software.
Only with Lifeview studio I'm able to tune the channels.
Al the rest:
Windvr, Windrv, Showshifter, Fly2000TV, etc. fail to find any channels, those who find just find one or two and in B/W.
On some cases after trying this softs the card hungs and doesnt even work with Lifeview Studio.
I'm desperate as the only purpose of buying the card was being able to program the card to record a lot of shows unatended..

Please help...

Taladro

p,.d I tried with the generic WDM drivers ad cant make them to work...
So I'm stuck with oficial CD_10345I drivers.

I think the programs you used are not aware of the situation that Argentina is a special TV Standard. You have PAL-N but Audio is NTSC Standard. So the prgrams are switching to NTSC which has different frequency table. Try for example to set he TV Standard in WinDVR to PAL-N, this should work normally, don' use the country code.

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

I already tried that... anyway it shows up in B/W in the best case, anyway it hardly tunes the channels.
the strange thing is why Lifeview Studio does work.
Is there anyway to program it to schedule record? is there a .ini someone can provide me?
Also a strange thing is that in some programs when I select Pal-N when I come back to check it it says NTSC or PAL-B as if it is not able to remember the setting...

Thanks...

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

I tried the DX hotfix, nothing happened.
I tried the new PVR still B/W
The strange thing is the fact that Lifeview Studio works flawlessly...
I just need to be able to schedule my recordings (of course being able to use my card with all the soft will be nice)

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

Only to make clear: You have the FlyVideo 98 with BT878 Chipset, and wanna use Liveview TVR? Which version of Lifeview TVR?
The problem is in your case is really that the frequency table is inside the TV application. So when the TV application has the wrong settings, it can't tune correctly.

Any version you tell me to... Right now I've installed TVR 2.01 beta, which doesnt work.
If is there any version you think it may work I would gladly install it.

Thanks

This version will never work, it is only designed for FlyTV Prime with Philips Chipset. The only drivers and Application from our website, which will work are at http://www.lifeview.com.tw/eng_html/dow … inue.htm#2
There in the driver package is also the AP for your Card.

Where is that? I'm using LR90LV10345I.zip that's correct isn't it?
There you only have the remote control style interface which records when you press the record button but I don't see anywhere to schedule...
Are we talking about the same application? Lifeview Studio

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

I asked our engineers, they confirmed that there is a button for schedule recording.
To be honest, I joined this company after this Interface was phased out, so i never tried this Aplication.
It should be the same like the current application, wher you have in the taskbar a symbol for schedule recording

tell the engineers they are wrong, or just try to install it.
TVR uses that taskbar symbol, Lifeview Studio Doesnt.
Thanking you for your time, but still frustrated...

I tried on a computer here with Driver 10.345I and it has schedule recording. All version higher than 10.345 have this function for schedule recording. I assume you Windows XP?

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

This is driving me crazy, I do have Win XP I installed as I told you before, LR90LV10345I.zip When I run it there is nothing added on the taskbar...
I dont understand this...
Also under the Program section I only have four options: Lifeview Studio, Lifeview Studio Help, Lifeview Studio Uninstall, and WDM Teletext.
I dont think any of these is the scheduler, and in the help section there's nothing about scheduling as well...
Which is the icon?

thnx

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

I really have to apologize. The schedule recording which was running on my computer in the background, was the one of TVR for the Philips Card. I forgot to delete it from the Registry. Also our engineer which I asked, meant a different version which was designed for an OEM customer.
So I have to tell you, thet the AP for the BT878 Chipset, doesn't have schedule recording, and it is not planned to implement this for the BT878 Chipset.

Re: Lifeview 98 only works with Life View studio - nothing more!

I had a Flyvideo 98 waaaay back 1998 (or was it 1997). I don't remember this card being advertised as capable of scheduled recording. I'm quite surprised that this card hasn't reached it's end-of-life and that Lifeview still continue to update the drivers and software for this card. That itself shows good customer service.

taladro, if scheduled recording is important to you, I think it's time you consider upgrading to a new tv card. The Flyvideo 98 is pretty much old technology and sad to say, may no longer meet your requirements.

Just my 2 cents worth.

if i just can know which card may do that using Pal-Nc ...
Also I bought this because of it "cable decoding" possibilities...

It is not the card, it is the application, so no matter which card you buy, the application has to know the correct country settings.
