gingel wrote:Thanks.i didn't know u can convert Mpeg-2 to Xvid with good quality.i will try it because i want to edit the movie before burning it to dvd-video.again, thank u.

If you want to edit the movie in order to record it to DVD-Video format, you must not convert the file to Xvid, because, in DVD-Video format the file must be mpeg 2. In this case you will reencode the file 2 times (mpeg 2 to Xvid and Xvid to mpeg 2).There are solutions where you can edit the movie in its native format, so you can burn it to DVD without quality loss (without reencoding). One of the best I tested is definately MPEG Video Wizard DVD:http://www.mpegvideowizard.com/dvd/dvd-trial.htm

FYI, MediaPortal is not working with analogue signal. It is working only with digital signal and your tv tuner does not have digital input.

I recommand you to stick to the mpeg 2 recordings. The results are very good. Then, if you intend to keep the recordings, you can always reencode the files to Xvid or DivX. You can use Dr DivX to achieve that. It is better to reencode the mpeg 2 file to Xvid rather than capture Xvid on-the-fly with your tuner. Believe me. You will not experience unsync anymore! Also, the quality of Xvid files it is much better!

The sync issue you have mentioned can be caused by 2 reasons:- codecs from your system;- a slow processor that cannot keep up with the signal flow.Anyhow, if the delay is constant on those recorded files (from the beginning to the end of the file) then there are some tools (like ifoedit for instance) that can adjust that delay without reecoding (quality is preserved 100 procent). The process is possible due to demuxing process (splitting the mpeg 2 file in 2 elementary streams: m2v and mpa - video and audio) and muxing (joining them back together).

Tv card is:SinoVideo 2309 PROTEUS 7130 Video CaptureI had purchased this video card on ebay and it tunes pretty good apart from some channels being different than the original but its all coming in black and white. At first i got no signal so i guess it improved a lot, but im not completly happy with it. I was wondering if there could be problems due to the resolution of my desktop or possibly my video card and its drivers and software. At first i had problems installing the drivers, but since i upgraded to vista, which i happen to love, i didnt even have to insert the cd for the drivers to be detected. The only dvr program i have used however is windvr. Also, the remote doesnt affect the program which im sure i only have to tweak the settings. Also WinDvr3 detects the tv card, but windows media center wont. I'll appreciate any help.
